Garlic Knots with 4 Ingredient Dough

Recently my husband and I celebrated our 14 year anniversary. I really would be lost without him. He helped me out of a bad situation once and was a really good friend when I needed one. From that experience we found love, companionship and built our little family. Marrying and falling in love with my friend was one of the best things I've ever done in my life.

If you ever meet my husband you will learn quickly that one of his favorite foods is spaghetti. I think if I would agree to just have pasta and marinara sauce daily he would be content. That is why on our anniversary I made him spaghetti but I also decided to make some garlic knots to go with that meal.

If you've been looking up healthier bread options online over the last few years you have probably already seen variations of this recipe. The 2 ingredient or 4 ingredient dough for bagels is pretty popular. I used that same recipe to create garlic knots. Since I don't have self rising flour I had to do the 4 ingredient variation.

If you have self rising flour feel free to make the Two Ingredient Dough:

1 cup self rising flour

1 cup nonfat plain Greek yogurt

For the rest of us it is a 4 ingredient dough.

•1 cup all purpose flour

•1 cup nonfat plain Greek yogurt

•2 tsp baking powder

•½ tsp salt

To make this into Garlic Knots we'll also need

•3 tbsp. unsalted butter

•1 tsp minced garlic (2 cloves)

•1 tsp Italian Seasoning

•Pinch salt

Preheat oven to 375°

Mix your flour, baking powder and salt together.

Add the yogurt and knead on a floured surface.

If your dough is too sticky add more flour.

Once you have kneaded your dough seperate into 8 equal sized pieces

Roll each into a 8 to 10 inch log and tie in a knot

Place on a parchment lined baking sheet

My knots leave a lot to be desired. At least they taste good at the end.

In a microwave safe mug melt the butter and mix in the garlic, salt and italian seasoning.

Brush the butter mixture over your garlic knots

Bake at 375° for 18 to 20 minutes or until cooked through

Once they come out of the oven it is time to eat! Serve these with marinara sauce or alongside your favorite Italian dish or even with a bowl of soup.
